"Art is a tragicomedy about three friends who realise that they have little in common after one of them buys a modernist painting. Deeper truths start to emerge as the conflict intensifies, leading all three to doubt the validity of their friendship. French author Yasmina Reza’s sharply satirical play was winner of the 1995 Molière Award and has been translated into many languages. Eclectic Theatre presents the English translation by Chris- topher Hampton, himself an internationally acclaimed British playwright, screenwriter and film director. This amateur production of “Art” is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH LTD."
